In my opinion, religion in Ireland, and any country, is a brainwash, making people believe in someone or something that you can't prove is real, believing over a thousand pages, any book can be called "The Bible"..
and besides even if god did exist, then how come the world isn't perfect like people say god made it to be, and how come there are still planets being made and found?

Well, making people believe in my opinion is pretty fucked up, but about God itself - for me there is a prove that God or however we will call this impossible to understand methaphisics power exists - it's earth, it's You and me, becouse if there is no one above us - how was it made? from what it became what is now universe? They say there was this explosion and ... But from what did this explosion get? There's no end for those questions, although I agree that Bible, Koran, Tora and other "saint" books are no prove and even I could write one too. I hope you understood me, before writing this post I was sure my english is pretty good Smile Cheers.

When I was at school we had a lot of 'brothers' or priests in training working at the school and one in particular brother Peter would tell us that apart from the gospels the rest of the bible was a book of hearsay and cherry picked info that should never be taken on face value, the only true church was the church within your own self that let you communicate with your GOD. That guy was due to go to the vatican and complete his journey into the priesthood but his words will always be etched into my mind, and the fact he was still in training told me he knew more about real life than regular priests, I wish there was more like as him people might have a better understanding of life without a book to inlfuence the mind and the decisions they make. No true rational person could say they have had any contact with GOD and that is why its all based on faith and if people find comfort in that then good for them, but your opinion is a direct result of the oppressive mind control and doctrination from people who think the book is entirley true and bash the life out of it, that is sad and we have to make our own minds up as to where and what we put our faith in. My own local priest is an old 'b' and I stopped going to church because of his archaic ways and the control he tries to exert over me and my family, we need more brother Peter's I think, and we would be more receptive to the relevance of the church in our lives today.
