I'm not from Ireland, but my family is and was "asked" to leave (thats the nice way to put it) because of some iccedents back in the 20's with the IRA...and from what my grandfather says it's starting all over the way it began back then...I'm just wondering if this is true? I've visited both parts of Ireland, not so much into the north cause i was young at the time and my mom was freaked out by the fighting and what not but from what I saw I thought that they deserve their freedom as much as the US did back 200 years ago...whats sad is even when the IRA was one large army they were still labled terrorists by most the world and yet what they have done is it not the same as what the american colonies did? They just want to have peace and freedom from oppression from what I see, please correct me if I'm wrong which I doubt I am. The Irish are a proud people with a beautiful history that is sadly marked by horrid and bloody conflicts with the british, I hope soon that will change for the sake of our children and our children's children, everyone desreves their freedom if they want it without having to run away for it. I'd like to hear all opinions on what I have said, and if your wondering and can't tell by what I have said, I am a supporter of the IRA and will be untill my death. |

No you hit the nail right on the head. While the IRA has always used guerrila tactics, which may be construed as terrorism, its all they have the power to do. I fully support the Ra, but I also admire hugely the Fenian forces who invaded Canada in the late 1800s, as it was a series of full scale military movements in which land was captured and superior fenian forces held out against the british bastards |

How can it be terroism if its a fight for freedom? I think the British are responsible for the propaganda that the IRA and other groups are labled as terroists. Instead of what they truly are and where.
All these groups are dedicated to unite Ireland and get the British out of Ireland. It is not right that the British occupy even one tiny piece of Ireland. "One Country, One Nation, One people". That's the bottom line.
